AutoTutor is a conversational intelligent tutoring system invented by Dr. Art Graesser, Dr. Xiangen Hu and their colleagues in Tutoring Research Group at the University of Memphis, USA. AutoTutor presents to students interactive learning materials and helps students learn by holding a conversation in natural language. AutoTutor is adaptive to the learners’ actions, verbal contributions and emotions. AutoTutor allows integration of multiple conversational agents to deliver learning contents with engaging conversation modes and optimal pedagogical strategies.
Creating conversational intelligent tutoring systems is usually expansive and time consuming. Tutoring Research Group has spent more than a decade to produce AutoTutor Script Authoring Tools that allow domain experts to create their own AutoTutor courses.
